I moved with my girlfriend at the time because the DC became such a crazy place after 911. We knew some really good people doing border action work in the Tucson area around the US Mexico border. And so we just decided to move to Tucson. I got brought into the campaign through this kind of head hunting project that unite was doing. Most of whom are women, most of whom are immigrants from Mexico and Central America,. You which are undocumented in Phoenix, Arizona, just like a deep red city in a deep red state in our country.
