The Pain of High Inflation in the UK
Down the Chancellor was also asked about the question of the government stepping in with people's increased mortgage cost. Let's listen to what Jeremy Hunt had to say about that. We know there is enormous pressure for families with mortgages and it's a really big deal for family finances. I'm meeting the mortgage lenders later this week to ask what else can be done to relieve pressure in very difficult times but we won't do anything that means that high inflation stays around for longer.
