Investing in a Cherry Tree Is a Disaster, Right?

The impact of El Nino can be seen in the economic and social ripple effects it has on a region. In central Washington, cherries are extremely sensitive to environmental fluctuations because they're grown for world-wide export. Once you have an elite political class whose legitimacy is based on their claims to control the weather, or to prevent bad harvests, if that happens then it's a much more serious disaster for that ruling group than it would be otherwise. The further back in time,  a lot of these temples seem to have been four or five centuries at least.
