First century b c. poem is dedicated to memius, who is a friend of lucretius. Lucretius wants his friend Memius to be free of the pain of life lived without epicurean philosophy. He says superstition lies crushed beneath epicuruss feet. Thanks to his victory, we mortals are raised to the height of the sky. So this is quite messianic imagery for, you know, that kind of time. But what problems does he encounter trying to put these incredibly complicated ideas into p i mean, with just with vocabulary, he has to keep making choices thatAe are difficult to get clarity,. but also to keep poetry absolutely clear.
