How Do You Develop These Different Attachment Styles?
Psychologists have found that ambientlysecurely attached babies get upset when their mother leaves. When she's being held then they are inconsolable and reject all bids for consolation. The research also says that there's this thing that peter fany calls mentalization which is, ah, this idea that the parent wonders about the child's own mind. And that state of mind is most predictive of whether a child has secure attachment.
