The Relationship Between Polarized Training Intensity and Fitness

Two minute efforts still have an outsized component of aerobic volume. The 12 minute fatigue power, which is much more lactate thresholdy, responds to polarized harder training. It's complex because it depends on the types of volumes they're doing. These numbers are not set in stone. They change throughout the year. Be aware of how your own fatigue resistance responds, race consistently and try to increase your aerobic volume through a bunch of different metrics.
