The Death of Schoenberg
Even Schoenberg couldn't escape the radicalization of the Boulez followers. The problem for them was that Schoenberg still wrote his atonal music in relatively classical forms. To Boulez, this was a contradiction. You couldn't write music that wasn't meant for classical forms and then try to shove it into that box.
