Transparency Isn't Just About the Terms and Conditions
Transparency isn't just about giving people source code because you have a public defender. And they may not even know out of open source code or what source code even means. So how do we truly make something transparent where it's usable transparency for people who are in the process of undergoing a bail hearing? Well, we've been advocating for very simple risk scoring models that get points for various things like the number of crimes you committed in the past. We think these points scores seem to be just as accurate as the best black box models we can construct on these datasets.
