The Role of Symbols in Video Games

A video game has to communicate efficiently, right? Many games might have a little bit of text-based storytelling or voice over. But so much of the work is happening through visual representation of characters. Carl Jung had the difficult pioneering job of explaining very abstruse, very metaphysical conditions under which we develop as human beings. And so he ended up speaking in the language of the unconscious, which is archetypes and symbols.
