The Effects of Plasma Volume Contraction on Serum Calcium

Just taking in calcium during the exercise is not effective. It needs to get down into the small intestine where it can be absorbed. So we think the window of time is probably an hour to two hours before exercise. The drinks that do tend to have a higher calcium may not be very palatable during exercise.
