The Future of the Smartphone Industry

5G promises to unlock the promise of the Internet of Things. Everything from cars to manufacturing, sensors in roads or in aircraft engines will be able to send out information about what they're doing all the time. The other thing that could happen with 5G is because it uses less power and is generally more efficient than 4G LTE that we have in our smartphones at the moment. It's still very, very early days for actual deployment of all of that, but it could make the smartphone industry look like just round one of selling the chips.
