When Sulla becomes dictator in 82 B. C. E, he had a constituent legislative military and judicial power without any limits on how long he could act as dictator. Caesar refuses to divorce Cornelia after he wins that civil war. He loses his property, uh, his priesthood and is almost killed as a decree put out by Silla puts him on the verge of being executed. The 22-year-old was captured by pirates off the coast of Asia minor but survived.
