The Challenge of Passibility in Hell
A traditional doctrine of hell is a state of separation from god, which has these kind of features. The individual is fully aware ri of her separation from god. So sometimes we call this eternal, conscious torment. But even if god could a redeem the suffering of the saints, that actually is not sure in that siner. Sometimes we want to say that heaven is participation in god's, god's own life. If god is not is suffering, he cannot redeem the saints.
