A Japanese Submarine Attack on the West Coast

A japanese sub opened fire off the coast of california. The attack mayhave been time to coincide with roosevelt's speech as a way to put the lie to all his fancy and inspirational, you know, talk right? O sure you not yo going o get wer? You can't even keep us from shelling your coast line while you're givin the speech. I don't think the sub did anything to damage morale, but it sure already added a few more sticks, a kindling, to the fire that was burning on the west coast in terms of fear. Our history books have labelled this the west coast war scare, or the West Coast War panic
