Is This New Age Cringe?

Aang clariby's new book is about two dogmas: computationalism and empiricism. In the first chapter, Aang talks about how his father was able to take on a radical new way of solving engineering equations when he was just 16 years old. He says that computation has been "wonderful" but also terrifying at the same time. The author hopes this sense of wonder can be kept alive by critiquing what she sees as ' oppressive' computations.
