I'm Going to Use It and Not Explain It, Right?

i think for the most part, my audience at least understands the idea behind correlation. What is actually an outlier? And like a in a normal distribution, is it plus er minus two standard deviations from the mean. If you don't know residuals or error, i'm going to use it and not explain it. For me, i always need to remind myself what all of those mean, and when why they're different.
