The Importance of Internal Problems in India

The dominant identity for most Indians is the sub-national identity. And we also have this federal system, federalism, which makes India so internally weak. All the energy is spent fighting inside, you know. So that's the issue. We still have much to learn and much to change. The system that has been imposed upon us, this parliamentary democracy system, is not ideal for India. I am not saying we need to reject democracy. We need to have a better democratic system.
