Is There a Utilitarian to Preserve?
Political reasoning generally I think supports a lot of utilitarian thinking and there are obviously in our moral imaginations in public imagination some kind of a deontological commitments that we make. But even then if for the larger good of the republic or society citizens do authorize quite a bit of violence all over the world to be able to keep that part of the body politics from from leaving it. There is no general formula that can be applied which will be universally valid, he says.
