The Importance of the Akkal in Islamic Psychology

In Islamic psychology, we have something called the kalb, the heart. One of its functions is the Akkal, the intellect. And if it's diseased because of negative experiences or because of ego, then that part of the heart may be diseased. The four main spiritual diseases include vanity, erjuk, rya, ostentation, kibber and arrogance.
