The Role of the FDIC in Financial Stability

The Federal Reserve regulated a lot of banks prior to the Green Financial Crisis. The Fed was very, to their credit, very open and honest, taking responsibility from the mistakes that they made. I do think we need to look at the Fed structurally and why they are so insensitive to stability issues. Perhaps one way is to have an entire separate supervisory board that would be part of the Fed.
