The Success Sequence: A Conservative Vision of the World

A conservative study argues if you finish high school, work full time, and wait to get married before you have children, the poverty rate is 2%. Those are really great things to tell your kid, but they're not a solid theory of how the world works. I think there are some Americans that don't realize how hard poverty is on some people's lives. Asking someone like Crystal, who had an incredibly rough, hard life full of violence, and eviction, and homelessness since she was a child, to just get a good job or just get married is kind of like asking her to have a different life.
