I want to do something that has more purpose. I want to somehow contribute to the solution. Management consulting was a really good training ground because it helped me to think about the big woolly questions in a more structured, deliberate and strategic way. The other thing about working and consulting, and indeed in business, it's helped me develop into what i think is the very results driven leader. And this was in the post aparti times. But ithink what really struck me then as what happened outside these suburbs where i was working, where you could see truly the gap between the halves and the half knots.
