The Dream Come True

With four days to go, they still hadn't got anybody for the part. I don't think they'd given it much thought because it was a very small part. So about eight lines and none of them were funny. As you can imagine, virtually everybody else in that pilot was part of that ensemble of comedy people who had risen in roughly the same years when they were attending Oxford and Cambridge. There was no way I was ever going to be able to break into that lot. It was like a dream come true"
