Is There a Value in Diversity?
If there is enough density of intelligent life then they will be used by somebody else. At that point we might say maybe it doesn't matter, we are kind of crappy at this and let's leave it to some more competent civilisation. Still, there is something interesting also about whether it might be some value in the human perspective. Maybe there is value in having that particular unique human perception and phenomenology of a being in the universe. So again there is an interesting value theoretical question here. And I think we might want to hedge our bets. We should just get working.
