I think we've become a little misled by some very sketchy attempts to tot up the costs and the benefits of allowing climate change to happen, or tackling it. I think that there's a place for cost benefit analysis in the world, but the place for it certainly isn't yat the top level of climate change as a problem. When you're dealing with this complex system and tipping points and unpredictability, that is not a cost benefit analysis type of problem. It's too profound. We have to approach it in a different way. Sometimes thinking in terms of protecting human lives does trump econonics. And it should do. Yes, absolutely.
