The History of Barbie

Barbie continued her fun and fashionable trajectory into the 1970s when she adopted Hippie Sheik. 1971 was also the year that gifted the world with Malibu Barbie, who really captured that kind of carefree spirit of the so called California girl. In some of Carol's designs featured in her book, there are clearly designs that are inspired by the work of Esalt Merant for instance.
