Managers need to make sure that their people are working on the most important things. Communicating what those priorities are in a way that the team understands, and they can ask you questions. And then you want to measure performance so setting up the metrics like every manager should understand. What are the biggest customer support problems we're having? That would indicate to me there was some sort of org problems.
