Claim is that his car was first shot at to stop it and there are bullet holes in the vehicle, but then he was separately killed. The suggestion that this was the result of careless handling of firearm hardly seems particularly plausible given the nature of the injury. Kiev generally does not seem to want to try and suggest that it has its fingerprints on it. Not least because they're perfectly happy to watch Russians and Russian proxies busy being suspicious about each other.
