Emmy's memory research professor used to fold a piece of paper in half, and he kept folding it. The idea was that this is reality; you are perceiving the physical world but also your future memories. He would then move these images through perceptual filters until they were what we actually remember. Emmry: I'll never forget when my professor said 'i am a neuron' - which i thought was fun.
