The Relationship Between Social and Vocal Complexity

The social brain hypothesis or the also called Machiavellian intelligence hypothesis. This has been put forward by two scientists in the late 20th century and they basically said that social expertise is one driving force for the evolution of the human intellect. So if you have to navigate complex social circumstances, complex social situations, then you need to be a smart, large brain ape, so to speak. And then of course, if you have a large brain, you can have more complex social interaction that can facilitate again, you know, a larger brain and so forth.
