The Cultural Drift of Grief

For many people, the kind of mourning that is societally expected and that is seen as expressing love and dedication to the person who has died just can't it's not natural for them to do it. And so hiring someone helps with processing the grief and making you feel like you've checked the box because you can't do that yourself. I think what you're seeing is given my culture devolve over thousands of years, hundreds of years, whatever.
