The Risks of Split-Brain Clustering

A lot of people these days are using cloud provider defaults. You can just click a button that says high availability and it gives you your replicas as a feature, not having to worry about exactly how that's implemented. I think there are new options where you don't have to worry about the exact underlying technology or maybe I should be more worried about that. Okay, so split-brain is one risk. Another risk is data loss. By default, if we use asynchronous standby nodes, if auto failure happens, we might lose some data which were written on the primary but known of standbys received it. In this case, auto failure happens and different node becomes primary and it lacks a tail
