Some kids are just born with, you know, bigger feelings, different talents. We want big kids' feelings to move us into action in their families and communities. The thinking brain doesn't even really come online for full development until they're six or seven. It won't be fully developed until they're early to mid-20s for girls and closer to 30 boys. So we have to practice it when they come, co-regulate, build those pathways,. that actually is the way we teach them to self-regulate.
