Liberal Democracies Have No Higher Story to Tell of Individuals
Liberal democracy has exalted individuals as reflecting characteristics of god, but actually as god itself. And that's where you get from liberty to libertinism, and where you get this sort of atomized, autonomous,. a story of the vidual that ultimately is a lonely story. That is part of the spiritual weakness, i think, in western liberal, secular societies.
