The Importance of Taking Care of the Pence
The fertility of a hen decreases with age until at length she becomes entirely barren. The queen bee usually dies of old age, sometime in her fourth year. It is highly important to the beekeeper who would receive the largest returns from his bees that he can catch the queen and remove her when she has passed the period of her greatest fertility. In this sequel, full directions will be given as to the proper time and mode of affecting it.
