The Engagement With Jefferson
Nikyo Ogunlesi says jefferson's words have had a global effect on how people think about black people. But his, his point, theyre also engaged with jefferson, is it doesn't matter how brilliant he is,. We have to also be the ones who write about our capacities. He has a line reses, yo, it's important that we blacks do it ourselves. And what this tells me is he is not looking for the abstract recognition of black people's humanity. Yes, he wants it, but it also needs to come from the earned judgment and self recognition of blackpeople themselves before the world.
