The Importance of Retribution
When interpreted in a Freudian context, it turns out to have a deeper meaning. In the case I'm thinking of that I have an angry, resentful hostility toward someone whom I profess to love and respect. Now that goes against my grain. And so I disguise it from myself. Or here's an example from Nietzsche: "I hear you say ik bin gerecht." But it sounds to me as if you said ik bin Gerecht. Even if my German were better and your ear were better, you'd have a hard time hearing the difference between the one that's spelled with an E and the one that't spelled with an A Umlaut.
