The Evolution of Altruism

There's lots of different ways that we've tried to account for altruism because it is kind of a mystery, right? To say that like, why would I do something completely selfless if it doesn't help me pass along my genes? And yet we have a huge amount of evidence of both reciprocal and non-reciprocal altruism. You can very easily look at any other person or even think about any other person and know what would probably hurt them.
