There was not a quarterback on the roster when Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch came to the 49ers in 2016. The only time there wasn't really any questions because they had to sign Jimmy Garoppolo to the contract, making him the highest played player in the NFL for a short period of time. But then after, okay, after 2018, he was injured. He was rehabbing. After 2019, when they went to the Super Bowl, there was the whole stuff going on with Tom Brady, picking the tires on him. And then the next year, it was Matthew Stafford and Trey Lance.
