Savino DiPalleau was a farmer, blacksmith and cheese maker from Basalicata, Italy. He settled in New York City's "little Italy," where many Italians first came through Ellis Island. After World War II they opened the door again for Italian immigrants to come in. The shop has expanded to represent the full food culture of 20 regions of Italy.
