The Evolutionary Tree of the Mermacophalosrit Beetle

Researchers have reconstructed an evolutionary tree of mermacophalosrit beetles. They found that there is no single origin for the life style, but a series of independent evolutiory transitions to life inside antolony. The beetle's body plans are probably fewer steps removed from ant like plan than most other ants' So when they evolve to look like ants, they can really resemble them. But you know, these beetles have not evolved that kind of morphological mimicry to me quite distinctly.
