The Mad Rush to Die
David died after five days, four or five days longer than we'd expected. He had a particular bit of kit that he wanted to be buried with but I couldn't find it. So he went into eternity dressed in the wrong thing which he would have been furious about. We were just all desperate. Fortunately my sister-in-law had keys to the church who was able to let us in and use the facilities. It's so interesting because I've never experienced the moment of death. You say what they say, what they want, they close their eyes, they die and you begin to mourn. And the world just isn't like that. Never are you more powerless in fact.
