The cost of hospitalizing mams and babies for a birth is zero point six % of it. Maternity leave, paternity leave and everything else following birth is woefully underfunded. So on one hand, providing more care to older pregnant women could, on average, improve their child's outcomes. On the other hand, providing that advanced care to every mam may not make sense for some moms might do more harm than good.
