Case 76: Silk Road (Part 2)

Casefile True Crime

00:00

The Marco Polo Task Force and the Dread Pirate Roberts

Carl Force was posing as Knob on Silk Road. He asked the Dread Pirate Roberts to find a buyer for a kilo of cocaine. The price was $27,000 and it was supposed to be delivered in January 2013. Ross waited anxiously to see if the delivery was a success - but Carl had other plans. His conversations were being monitored by the Marco Polo Task Force. They didn't approve of his idea to set up masters of the Silk Road site. But there wasn't much they could do about it. There was even competition between agents within the same agency. Everyone wanted to be the one to crack the case. This resulted in poor communication and exchange of information. Sean Bridges
