What's the Story of Democracy?

Only 30% of the world's population lives in free, liberal democracies. World has only seen democracy for one % of a human history time and we're living through that period right now. I'm quite heartened by the speed with which western countries have come together to defend ideological values in democracy. And i certainly don't rest easy when i look around the world and think about just how many catastrophes have happened. But none the less, there is still an opportunity, economically, to exert pressureon countries that go rogue, such as russia.
