The Vapour of Knowledge in the Workplace

Claire, Marie: I'm really interested in the application of knowledge to solve problems. And certainly at Key Stage 2, there is a significant element of rote learning and that they were tested on their knowledge of times tables. But again, can they apply that in a particular problem? Because I think that knowledge in a vacuum by itself without the ability to be able to apply that in different situations and different scenarios Isn't as effective as perhaps it could be.
