The Relationship Between Ogeechee and Harris

Ogeechee lived with Harris, who went on to become the US Consul for a time. There's debate and discrepancy in accounts of whether or not their relationship was consummated. She has been described as his lover, as his housekeeper, as his nurse. Some believe that she served until the American Consulate closed as the local mistress for the Consulate.
