The Future of Naval Aviation - The Gerald Ford Supercarrier Class

The current Gerald Ford Supercarrier class is currently only contracted to build just four units. The point which the US Navy will then have to make a decision on what direction the following generation of aircraft carriers will have to go in. Some are suggesting the next class should be even bigger to fit more planes under the decks or accommodate bigger planes with longer range. Others are suggesting the US move to building small carriers, focusing on vertical take-off and helicopter carriers.
