Preterm Birth and Coven 19 Infection During Pregnancy
A team in israel has had a look at how the timing of when you catch covid can affect the risk of preterm birth. They tracked what happened in nearly three thousand cases of coven 19 infection during pregnancy. There was no significant rise in risk of premature birth, that is, giving birth before 37 weeks of pregnancy,. But if the infection was in the last three months of pregnancy, the incidents of premature birth rose from two point three % to five point eight%. And this went up to nine point one in people who caugt cover 19 at week 34 or later. The study suggests that you should practise social distancing and respiratory protection after 34 weeks of pregnancy.
