The History of the Printing Press

In the 15 hundred, certain printers begin to create a regular schedule of printing small sheets of relevant information. This begins with so called avisi, or notifications printed in venice, starting in 15 56. These are sort of the rudiments of what we might to day call a newspaper. Later, over time, especially as towns and cities grow, certain printers start to print off their own gazettes for the general public. The first sort of regular weekly news sheet that we know of was in strasbourg in 16 o five. Several other german news sheets follow in 16 o nine.
